Winning ‘Green’ at Southwoods

Most people know Southwoods as a golf course. Nothing more, nothing less. What people don’t know is that it’s also a wildlife and botanical haven, what I like to call a “green lung” of the city. Plants and animals thrive on the club grounds. Some of our members have even taken up bird watching as a hobby, the inevitable by-product of all the exotic birds they encounter while at play.

Southwoods, as well as my other golf courses, are among the few man-made destinations in the Philippines which work hand-in-hand with Mother Nature.

The truth is that I’ve dedicated my life’s work to improving the environmental conditions of the Philippines and minimizing our carbon footprint. This comes at a cost, but one I’ve always been willing to pay.

My legacy for this good green Earth will be to restore it, not destroy it.
