iamkarendavila: FIRST LIVE TV interview – MRTC’s Chairman Bob Sobrepena (the company that built & owns MRT3). “Since 2000,2004,2008 – we have been offering govt to buy the new trains at NO COST to them, DOTC wanted to buy the trains. In 2012, we entered into a joint venture w MVP to invest $350M to upgrade MRT, buy new trains & even absorb the P7B subsidy of passenger fares – govt turned us down. I don’t know why? They have kept us out of the loop, they don’t dialogue with us”. Sobrepena blames the deterioration of MRT to the govt who in 2012 changed the maintenance provider to PH Trams/APT Global from Sumitomo/Mitsubishi who designed, built and maintained MRT3. So..
